Special Holiday Workshops
In this season of giving, don't forget to give to YOURSELF, too! I have pulled together two fun, mellow workshops to give ourselves a little pampering downtime before the holiday break. Join us Monday, December 17th!

Basics of Candle Dancing
Why is the flame so universally mysterious and captivating? The flicker of candles is one of the many symbols of the holiday season, evoking a sense of comfort, warmth, and calm in the stormy cold days of winter. Simply adding candles as a prop to your dancing can bring a lot of drama to your performance, and is just plain fun. We will explore candle dancing as a method for setting a mood and telling a story. We'll slink to the groove in a workshop lit almost solely by our candles.
TO BRING:
Students must supply their own flameless-candles (no open flame allowed, so please do not bring any real candles!), which are widely available at drug stores and craft stores, such as Walgreens and Michaels.

It is also recommended that you have some sort of holder to disguise your faux candles in--something low and round, which fits comfortably on the palm of your hand without having to grip it to keep it balanced. Something metal with cutouts disguises the faux candles best while playing lovely illuminated patterns on your surroundings, but colored or texture glass can also work (but be careful not to drop them!) Holders are not, however, a requirement.
Make sure your candle batteries are powered and ready to go, and if you have any spare faux-candles, please feel free to bring them to decorate the room with!
